All good photographers know it’s all about the volume. Shoot many, many photographs, because most of them are mediocre, at best. Take this photo, for instance. I took about 30 shots in the space of 10 minutes, while waiting to pick up my daughter from school. I was attracted to the sky and the light on the trees, so I kept looking up, through the view finder, all of my surroundings, looking for compositions that attracted my eye. Later, looking over the photos I saw this and immediately knew it was the best of the bunch.
