While in Tuscany I stumbled upon a gorgeous old spa in the town of Montecatini Terme. It is the place where Fellini filmed 8-1/2. While parts are still a working spa, much of the locale has been turned into a public park. I paid a fee to go into the grandest area of them all, where there are lots of fountains, both decorative and actual spouts for “taking the water”, presumably with a glass or bottle. I’m not sure, because I didn’t see a single person drinking the water, nor anyone clearly there for a spa treatment. Just lots of folks like me, wandering the beautiful grounds, taking photos. This is a layered work that was created later, at home, with some of that source material.
