Even on the busiest of weeks, I continue to do my “self-portrait saturday”. There are times it feels like I’ve done it all before, then other times, like with this one, I do something very similar, but find a new way to make it fresh.

This piece, like a few before it, was used by taking my photo in a round, magnifying makeup mirror. Only this time, I used Camera+ to take the photo, plus used the flash on my iPhone. Sometimes I forget it’s there, but this time it really added to the final result (even though it was BLINDING during the process). I also used the app Iris to filter it a bit more. The look of the eyes immediately made me think of film noir, thus the title.
